A flagship project for Sunrock France
The solar installation in Valence is a flagship project for Sunrock France and a strong example of how logistics real estate can contribute to the energy transition. Covering approximately 37,000 m² of rooftop space and consisting of 18,468 solar modules, the project delivers 8.3 MWp of installed capacity, making it one of the largest rooftop solar installations in France.
Today, the installation generates around 11,000 MWh of renewable electricity annually, equivalent to the yearly consumption of more than 2,500 households. By producing clean energy locally, the project helps avoid more than 3,500 tonnes of CO₂ emissions every year while demonstrating the potential of large-scale rooftop solar across the French logistics sector.
Turning collaboration into impact
The successful delivery of the project reflects Sunrock’s fully integrated approach. From development and financing to construction and long-term operation, Sunrock brought together the expertise needed to turn an ambitious vision into a high-performing clean energy asset. Close collaboration between all parties involved – especially the owner, tenant, and installation partner Centroplan – was key to delivering a project of this scale and complexity.
Valence also represents an important milestone in Sunrock France’s growth journey. The experience gained throughout the development and delivery of the project continues to support the expansion of large-scale rooftop solar across the country, helping more industrial and logistics buildings unlock the value of locally generated solar energy.
