Towards becoming better and better

The Goals

We dream big and are getting there, day by day and step by step. At Sunrock, impact is a shared effort. Co-created by every single Sunrocker. It runs through our veins. Together we work towards our goals. These are our Top 3.

1. Reduce emissions

We serve over half a million people with clean energy, while reducing our own direct and indirect emissions

2. Radical transparency

Never let ‘difficult’ be a deterrent. Driving positive change, we share our supply chain data using Open Supply Hub.

3. Increase diversity

At Sunrock, we foster more than 30% underrepresented genders and over 40 nationalities.

Walk the talk

We genuinely LOVE making impact. For Sunrock, making impact exceeds compliance. We do not just tick all the boxes, we go up and beyond them. Here’s what we’ve been up to lately.

The afterlife of solar panels

The afterlife of solar panels

In partnership with circular solar specialist GebruiktePanelen, we give solar panels and mounting systems a second life whenever possible. Used installations are carefully dismantled, cleaned, tested and redistributed for new commercial and residential applications across Europe. By extending the lifespan of solar equipment, we keep valuable materials in use for longer. Panels that can no longer be reused are responsibly recycled, helping to support a more circular solar industry.

We are B corp certified

We are B corp certified

Since ’24, we’ve officially been able to call ourselves a B Corp. A certification that doesn’t come lightly. We got it! And in 2025, our ESG efforts also earned us the Gold European Solar Sustainability Award. Do we brag about it? Just a tiny bit. Mostly, we see it as motivation to keep raising the bar.

Cables, panels, inverters, transformers. Copper runs through almost every part of a solar project. But where does it come from, and under what conditions is it mined? Since 2024, Sunrock has joined forces with industry peers and civil society organisations to help improve conditions in artisanal copper mining in Peru. While we have not yet fully mapped our copper supply chain, we believe that is all the more reason to start asking questions and making a difference.

The power of grazing

The power of grazing

The power of grazing

At our solar park in Flevonice, sheep help keep the site healthy year-round. By grazing between and underneath the solar panels, they provide a natural alternative to mechanical mowing. It’s a simple solution that supports efficient site management while showing how renewable energy and nature can work together.

Together with Sopowerful, Sunrock supported a new solar project at Nyangao Hospital in Tanzania. The installation provides a stable, renewable source of electricity for critical healthcare services, helping improve care for the more than 61,000 people who rely on the hospital every year.

The Uyghur perspective

perspective

The Uyghur
perspective

We deeply value stakeholder engagement. In Spring 2024, we invited the Dutch Uyghur Human Rights Foundation, alongside our suppliers, financial partners, and industry peers. The conversation provided valuable insights into the challenges faced by the Uyghur community and the broader impact of the PV industry.

We consistently provide proof to back up our promises. For those interested in the facts and figures, here is the official data and an engaging report detailing what we’ve accomplished over the past few years. Additionally, you’ll find our widely adopted supplier code of conduct—feel free to borrow it; the more, the merrier!

Social safety

When something is off, we want to make that right. Consequently, we want to know what’s going on and what’s going wrong, so we can learn, solve and prevent misconduct. Whatever has raised your concerns, please let us know. Anybody who experiences or witnesses misconduct can file a report. From Sunrockers to (workers of our) contractors/suppliers, consultants or job candidates. Visit our whistleblowing platform to report your concern.

Scope 1 & 2

Sunrock made an SBTi commitment to reduce emissions to 10t CO₂e by 2030. In 2024, we achieved this original SBTi target, six years ahead of schedule. In 2025, we made even further progress, reaching an over 90% decrease in emissions from the 2019/2020 baseline.

Scope 2 0 0 0 0 0.07 0.45 1.97
Scope 3

The goal is to cut emissions 20% by 2030, relative to the theoretical emissions from the 2021 baseline. 2025 showed an increase of emissions by 61,9%, due to more projects being developed in 2025. From 23 projects to 36 projects.
