Sunrock develops four large-scale solar rooftop projects in France for international real estate partner

Paris, 6 August 2026 – Sunrock, a leading European provider of integrated renewable energy solutions for logistics and industrial real estate, announces the deployment of four solar projects in France for one of its major international clients. Building on successful collaborations in Germany and the Netherlands, the partnership is now expanding into the French market, supporting decarbonisation ambitions and increasingly demanding energy transition requirements.

A strategic partnership supporting the energy transition

Transforming rooftops into sources of renewable energy represents a major opportunity for
industrial and logistics real estate stakeholders. For the client, this partnership helps to:

  • Contribute to reducing the carbon footprint of its real estate assets.
  • Enhance the value of its real estate portfolio by supporting energy transition and decarbonisation goals.
  • Provide tenants with clean, locally generated electricity, helping to reduce energy costs and carbon emissions.

Logistics site in Valence (Drôme): roof refurbishment works and installation of modules for the 8.3 MWp photovoltaic plant developed by Sunrock.

A fully integrated turnkey approach

Sunrock manages the entire lifecycle of these solar projects, from technical feasibility studies and financing through to design, construction and operations. This approach enables the client to focus on its core business while Sunrock ensures compliance with timelines and the highest technical and regulatory standards.

All four projects are structured as collective self-consumption schemes, enabling locally generated electricity to be utilised directly while also allowing for potential market sales. This structure optimises project economics while maximising local environmental impact. “We are honoured to lead this expansion in France alongside our client. These four projects, including one exceeding 8 MWp in the Drôme region, reflect our vision of transforming rooftops into engines of the local energy transition. We manage the entire value chain: engineering, regulation, financing, construction and operations. Our goal is simple: allow our client to focus on its core business while we manage all technical and regulatory complexities,” said Nicolas Mercier, Managing Director of Sunrock France.

Four projects at different stages of development

Valence (Drôme) – 8.3 MWp: With a capacity of 8.3 MWp, the rooftop photovoltaic installation built by Centroplan France on a logistics facility in Valence is among the largest rooftop solar power plants currently under construction in France. The scale, technical complexity and delivery schedule demonstrate Sunrock’s expertise in developing large-scale solar projects. Commissioning is planned for October 2026. The system will generate approximately 11,000 MWh of green electricity annually, equivalent to the consumption of more than 2,500 households, and will avoid over 3,500 tonnes of CO2 emissions each year.

Fos-sur-Mer (Bouches-du-Rhône) – 2.3 MWp: Combination of a solar carport installation (963 kWp) and a rooftop collective self-consumption system (1.35 MWp). The rooftop project has secured a tariff award from the French Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE).

Saint-Maurice (Ain): Enhancement of an existing 500 kWp installation through a solar extension developed by Sunrock, adding a further 595 kWp. Construction works are expected to last four months.

Plessis-Pâté – 0.725 MWp: Construction began in June 2026, with delivery scheduled for November 2026. The site hosts tenants with significant cooling requirements. The collective self-consumption solar system will provide access to a locally produced energy loop that could significantly reduce energy costs and enhance competitiveness.
