Sunrock Deepens Partnership with Frasers Property Industrial

Duesseldorf, 7th October, 2025

Sunrock is equipping an additional five properties of Frasers Property Industrial with photovoltaic systems with a total capacity of 16.5 MWp. Together with the existing installations for the flagship project “The Tube”, as well as the logistics property in Vaihingen an der Enz, this brings the total to seven projects that Sunrock is realising for the developer. The PV portfolio of this energy partnership now comprises 26.9 MWp.

Sunrock, a leading European developer of large-scale solar rooftops and integrated clean energy solutions for logistics and industrial buildings, and Frasers Property Industrial, a multinational developer, owner and operator of logistics and industrial properties, are further expanding their partnership for fossil-free, clean energy.

In addition to the existing PV installations for the flagship project “The Tube” in Düsseldorf, North Rhine-Westphalia, and for a logistics property in Vaihingen an der Enz, Baden-Württemberg, with a combined capacity of around 10.3 MWp, five further projects are being added.

Thus, new PV systems are being built for properties in Günzburg, Bavaria, with a capacity of 3.9 MWp; in Egelsbach, Hesse, with 2.6 MWp; in Mülheim an der Ruhr with a capacity of 2 MWp; in Duisburg with a capacity of 7.1 MWp; and in Bergheim with 1 MWp (all in North Rhine-Westphalia). In total, around 281,600 sqm of rooftop area will be equipped with nearly 60,000 solar modules, which will produce approximately 26,000 MWh of green electricity annually and thereby save more than 11,600 tons of CO₂ per year.

“At Frasers Property Industrial, we are committed to offering our tenants access to renewable electricity under attractive conditions and to future-proofing our buildings. Thus, we not only contribute to the energy transition but also enhance the attractiveness of the portfolio,” says Alexander Schäfer, Sustainability Manager at Frasers Property Industrial.

Sunrock is the owner of the systems, leases the roof spaces and provides the green electricity to the local tenants of the properties. The partnership focuses on tailor-made and sustainable energy concepts. The portfolio includes, for example, a sophisticated tenant electricity model for seven tenants in Düsseldorf, the combination of a green roof and PV system in Günzburg, a large-scale PV system with more than 15,000 modules for an existing property in Duisburg, or a solution with special glare-free modules in Egelsbach due to the proximity to the airport.

A particular focus lies on unlocking the sustainability potential of existing properties, which are gaining importance in light of the energy transition and evolving tenant requirements. Sunrock addresses the specific challenges of existing properties through preparatory and accompanying services, including the critical assessment of roof structural integrity, construction, condition and age, as well as evaluation of the electrical infrastructure.

“We are proud to deepen our partnership with Frasers Property Industrial and to be able to plan, install and operate five additional systems. Our close collaboration makes it possible to find the ideal energy solution for each property. Property users also benefit from locally produced solar power, which brings not only ecological but also economic advantages. We thank Frasers Property Industrial for their trust and look forward to continued cooperation,” adds Roderik von Meyenfeldt, Regional Head of Development at Sunrock Germany.
